Just started learning German on Duolingo. This is a great way to expand on it and I always keep the app open while Im doing lessons so I can research and expand my vocabulary as I go along

Ive found it useful. Requires an Internet connection, though.

I like it its pretty simple to use and if you have a hard time pronouncing a word it has a button to say it so you can understand how to say is awesome

The vocabulary could be more complete, but good for most purposes.

Use it when reading my German literature.

This is the best free German app I have seen. What use are the ones that dont give you the gender of a noun??? There are a few words that it has not had that were a little surprising, but overall it does well.

Overall, this app is very good considering it is free!

Every time I look for a word I make the mistake of trying to have it translated with this app. I shouldnt waste my time doing that and go right to the online dictionary.

The definitions are pretty well laid out. My only disappointment is that if I dont have the spelling exactly right in German, it wont suggest other spellings, it simply says it cant find it. I dont know how to type umlauts on my phone, and it doesnt recognize "o with umlaut" as "oe", so thats a bit problematic. Nothing is perfect, and its good to have a German dictionary accessible.

But too many missing words. I speak both German and English well. At times I cant think of a word of one or the other language , and many times there is no translation. Havent used other languages.

It is a Great App!! I am using this dictionary because its so accurate of what I want to say in German!! Thanks soo much!! :)

Limited words with it.

This app is incredibly helpful. I recently moved to Germany for work and I do not speak German, but Im learning, and this dictionary is great. Its easy to use and it is very convenient. I use it daily to look up words and even phrases. The phrases are particularly helpful because not only do you learn the meaning of new words, but this app, to my knowledge, also uses the correct grammar. I recommend this app to anyone trying to learn a new language, its a life saver.

I take a German class in school, so this app is pretty helpful when I need to find a word(s) quick and easy with flipping through a German dictionary trying to find the word you need.

I am a beginning German student, and this app is very useful to me. It can switch from English>German to German>English. Two things I would love to see in an update: (1) the ability to retrieve previous entries, and (2) assistance in the form of "Do you mean..." For example if I enter beschreiburg, it would say, "Not found; do you mean beschreibung?

The app is fast and easy to use but many words are simply not here.

This dictionary really is fantastic. It has spot on, well done pronunciations, extensive vocabulary, and numerous idiomatic expressions for each and every entree, not to mention giving cases and forms as a standard.
